After a recent 'off' at Surtee's, Brands Hatch, I set about putting my 2013 blade back together.
This included new fairing sections and generator cover.
It seems I didn't torque up the 2 m6 sensor bolts behind the cover correctly and while coming into London on the M4 they decided to drop out. This killed the electrics therefore the engine and I just made it to the hard shoulder in the morning rush hour traffic.
Later my local Honda dealer told me that one of the bolts was missing and had found its way to somewhere in the engine.
Needless to say this has now become a very expensive track day and I only got 2.5 sessions in!
Just been looking at eBay for a track bike, ummm, there is a really nice cbr600rr....

What are you going to do about the Blade though? Get the engine replaced to put it back on the road?

The missing bolt was found in the sump so it could be done with engine in frame. It's was lucky because if it hadn't been in the sump it would have needed full strip and rebuild. Bike is ready for collection as soon as I have sold a body part or child to pay for it!

    Ah ok.

Yea once you go down the trackday route there's no turning back.

I went from doing a Ron Haslam day to buying a track bike for the next season. Never looked back since.
