With no criticism toward Chinese people in general, I make this criticism of Chinese manufacturing relevant to a product ordered, paid for, and received by me. This deserves to be separate to 'The Chinese Parts Debate' thread. Some will remember that I ordered some carbon tank cover infills on January 21 for my 2011. @Demmel expressed keen interest in seeing how they fit. They arrived 30 mins ago. Well . . . the friggin' things won't even make it to my bike. The right side panel has a faulty screw post, a result of incorrect or flawed moulding process. Obviously I have already emailed the seller (these were £52.00) pointed out the flaw in intensely magnified pics and requested a refund and free postage for the product's return. I also pointed out that if any manner of quality control was in place, or even a glance by whoever processed the postage, this would have stood out like the proverbial DBs, or at least one DB. Friggin' anus heads!
Poor @nigelrb ....cant bring myself to kick a man when he's down. I can imagine the elation at receiving the parcel and then the horror or the shite inside
Indeed........I'm gutted he didn't video the opening so we could see his face Maybe we should make it compulsory for anyone ordering Chinese stuff off't net to do so and then post up in Pics & Videos
Moral of the story is. Don’t buy dodgy, self imported Chinese shit. Because it’s shit. You should know better @nigelrb at your age.
Did buy a Chinese seat cowl for me black 14 bike before getting the proper honda one..fleabay £10...came ..fitted it...perfect..although colour match was slightly off..then bought the honda racing one used for £80...fitment exactly the fuckin same but looked good and the decals owww...moral of the story is..HONDA you greedy bastards
Will he learn tho Kev...will he learn If he bought a Chinese 4th Mrs Nigelrb and the holes were tatty and in the wrong place, maybe he might... at last
Sorry but the advert that popped up at the bottom of this post made me laugh. It is a hit or a miss with Chinese parts at best expect it to be flawed.
But the fairings were brilliant! However, that was last year. This year is the Chinese Zodiac sign of The Pig. How apt! And what a friggin' PIG of a deal I got.
I think you have got a good deal. You will get your money back and get to keep the part and may be adapt it to fit
I expected something similar from the Chinese parts. Nightmare. In general, do these panels exist without gaps? I’m silent about what I saw in the photo ... Nigel, thanks for the experiment.
And that's exactly how I think it will pan out. Refund was in my account this morning (for the full amount) but no message about return of goods. Obviously I should not be liable for return postage, and I suspect the 'manufacturer/reseller' will not want to pay it. As courtesy, I've emailed back to the seller seeking his instructions. Fairly sure I'll end up with a free set of infills. Given the detail I've recently posted about my fibre-glassing expertise with the aprilia repairs, I have no doubt that I can repair this. Even failing that, a couple of strips of 'Gorilla Tape' will certainly secure it, and being on the inside of the tank, no -one will ever know. Except @Demmel , when I offer them to him for £60.00! I will congratulate Zero Limits for offering me a price concession. Not exactly sure whether I'll take it up now. Moral of the story is that I probably should have just bit the bullet and purchased from them first-up.
UPDATE: Reply from China: 'No need send the parts. We give as gift.' That's what 'm talkin' about! Repair process underway!!
