Hi guys i was looking at buying some paddock stands for the Fireblade and they were circa £100 and i just thought that for another £70 i could have an abba stand that would work for my 'blade and my Hayabusa.

My question to you is would the abba stand work for a track day (well 5 days in Spain)?

As ever grateful for any thoughts or experiences you guys have had

I don’t know if the abba stand is a quick deploy. If your not using tyre warmers, do you need stands anyway?
You can get front and rear stands for about £75 for both these days. Not best quality but good enough for most.

    Hey Coda,

Firstly, can i just say thanks for all the advice that you give me, i really do appreciate it mate. So thanks for the time that you spend answering my millions of questions.

I will start my 5 days on road tyres with a view to moving to scrubs on day 4/5 so tyre warmers will be needed then. Your point about speed of deployment is well made; i have watched a couple of videos and it seems quick enough but again with no track day experience i'm not sure.

    Thanks again mate, mike

Yeah just get a couple of regular paddock stands as you'll be knackered using the ABBA around 14 times per day in leathers in hot weather after a full session on the bike.

Paddock stands are easy enough for wheel changes, you can get both tyres changed at once.I wouldn't worry about the tyre warmers just yet if you are a novice to track riding, it could give you false confidence. To keep the heat in your tyres you can't be waiting around in the pit lane at the start of your session, you need to be out the warmers and off onto the track.

The road tyres you will be using will warm up within 2 laps, I've never used warmers and generally buy Michelin Power GP tyres which warm up quickly.
