Bloody X-Trail Today i mostly spent my time with Bats, had an issue of the O/S brake caliper sticking, i should have had them both done at the same time? so its strip it off and visit Bats and his boss in his garage, now me liking to do my bit? i suggested i don a pair of latex gloves and learn something from the mechanicing world. one of the pistons was siezed solid, it took a lot of air pressure and vice grips to help it along the way Along with Peter "bats boss" after freeing them both i removed the seals and the dust covers and ended up with this Lots of Anal cleaning later watched by the Bats himself who was working on this it was time to refit the pistons and the seals oh my god, what a fook around that is. TBH i managed the seals fine, but the dust covers were something else, my "fat fingered" attempt now into hour 2 of a half hour job Peter "the boss" came and lent a hand, he was either by now A very pissed because of the time i was taking? B he has a soft spot for people with special needs? All in all it it went very well, i certainly had the right tools for the job So thanks Bats for allowing me a lesson on how to redress a calipper, i have learned a very important lesson, Leave it to the experts, finally before i go waiting for you in my hall way A token of my appreciation bloody heck you can watch a movie too, i spoil you rotten
a couple of mates have had xtrails in the past and both have had seizing brake calipers. bloody nissans !! lol
TBH I can't fault it mate. It's on an 06 it's now done 29000 and all it's cost me is a set or front tyres and discs. Notorious for warping them too.
Haha no worries gazza and cheers for the beers BUT i think you find it was me and you that put the pistons back in
