Looking at buying VENDY's bike but he thinks it's non ABS but when I type in reg for insurance it comes up as ABS. I do NOT want an ABS bike so how can he check to confirm this before I travel down tomorrow. Vendy is being more than helpful so not questioning him.

There are a few visual differences between an abs model and non abs models, most noticeable is the plastic panel beneath the riders seat which the abs version has a larger/fatter panel which sticks out more towards the tyre.

Another telltale sign is the speed sensors fitted to the right hand side of the bike both at the front fork lower and the rear brake carrier, the speed pickup plates for the sensors are also fitted to the rear wheel and the front disc, they are metal discs with holes cut into them to allow the magnetic sensor to tell the wheels speed as they rotate round with the wheels.

There are a few more big differences but those are fast to identify an abs bike.

Below is a non abs repsol.

And an abs equipped repsol from other side but shows larger plastics under seat.

Another abs model different yr but again fatter under seat plastics and the silver rear speed sensor disc is clearly visible.

Other signs are the pipe work for the rear brake on an abs version goes up into the underseat plastics, front goes up n runs into metal pipes just below left handlebar at the frame and there is another plastic panel covering the left hand engine casing.
Caliper colours were altered to a darker brown on abs's too.

But the above top two methods are very quick at identifying an abs bike.

Here's a close up of the Bronze ABS Calipers on my old ABS HRC just for comparison!
Plus a Combined ABS sticker on the mudguard
Plus U can see the slotted wheel speed sensor disc at the centre of the wheel splindle also.

Yes it's the same bike and it's not black if you look at the top of the pic. It's taken from VENDY's classified add ;-)

The online insurance gig is a joke.

Every time I look to insure my car it comes up as a convertible, if it is, whoever welded the roof on and sprayed it did a stellar job.

It is the same bike Sinewave. Also have a look at the infill panel and you'll see it's the silver 1 from the anniversary bike :)
