I know we have a sticky running on this, but I want to grab attention, as some owners may no longer look at the sticky. This is not confirmed yet, but I have been in discussion with a major motorcycling publication for a while. (Thanks Nick_BladeRR!!!) They are warming to the possibility that it could be an interesting issue to give wider publicity to the ABS issues. Apart from myself, are there any members who are still suffering ABS issues prepared to offer themselves and their bikes up for a potential discussion , test of machines etc to the publication. Obviously this needs to be ONLY owners who have suffered issues and are still suffering issues that have not been resolved. No guarantees this will happen, but some names coming forward will help if it goes ahead Thanks
No issues with my ABS blade but would be good to see the results of some independent (and high profile) testing. I'll be watching the results with interest...
Touch Wood, my problems have been resolved with a full DIY bleed. I'm very interested in watching this still; well done.
No more ABS woes for me, but if they want someone that actually sold their gorgeous Repsol because of it. Im your man, may still have video of it happening too?
As above no more problems since the fitted the new front power module, but all documented accounts of what happened with video footage available if needed.
I have no probs coming forward with mine as it still will go tits up, however mine only goes funny when its wet and its also booked in on the 27 may for a full fluid change. Which after taking the bike out in the wet and it went wrong with the mechanic on it they have decided to do it for free. That said if it still ain't right i am going to book it in and get Arthur to sort it.
Thanks guys, but I need owners with problems that are ongoing. CBR Pete, is your dealer funding the brake bleed or is it Honda UK?
It is a pretty decent thing but unfortunately I feel miby a bit late as the generally accepted way of repairing the system for most was to ditch the abs system by chopping it in for another bike completely or purchasing a non abs equipped blade. Just being more nosy but why is the magazines starting to now possibly accept there is an issue when they refused to write anything bad about honda's almighty and perfect CBR combined ABS systems for the last 4 years?
I still totally have the issue. In fact I just started another round of talks with the dealership that sold me the bike. It's as bad as the day I bought it (2012 brand new). I( drives me nuts and I'd love to be involved and help in any way I can. Unfortunately, I'm in Canada. Not sure if that helps. I applaud your efforts and hope something comes of it. I'm a bit surprised by all these responses of "resolved" issues. I'd love to know how to "resolve" mine! I'll help you any way I can Amnesia
It has just taken some contacts to get it this far, and a little bit of pleading. I am not sure if anyone remembers this, but I come across an old Superbike mag from Aug 2010 this evening, they had just taken delivery of a long term test ABS Blade. The journo reported his first ride on it across London, and he had the lever sinking to the bar and the ABS light flashing, he stamped on the rear brake and the rear wheel locked up, only way to stop it was to turn the ignition off and back on. This was on a Honda UK Press fleet bike.............and they claim never to have heard of the problem before back at Honda UK..............make your own mind up about their integrity.
Need a quick clarification as to what the problem is ? I have a strange one for you .............. Marion who is a member on here has a 2012 with ABS now she has had no problems what so ever, however I've ridden her bike quite a few times and every other time I've ridden it,the lever has come all the way to the bar ! The bike has slowed down but in a panick I release the lever then pull again (old habit from shite cars second pump always get them working ) as it does with the bike second pull and it's solid again !! Our house is on a slight hill and there is a T junction about 200 yards which is where the lever has come to the bar ! But like I've said Marion has had no problems. So my question is........ Is it the bike or the rider ?
Hello Honda!! are you reading or is this a case of 'Should of gone to specsavers!' unbelievable find Kent!
That's the same situation I have had with Colin's 2010 abs when I rode it pre recent Brembo upgrade, not been on it since upgrade but that will only be a matter of time before that's remedied (won't it Col! ) Anyway he has never had an issue while he's been the rider but I must to have a different brake style or summit as I have a knack of gettin the brake lever to the bar within minutes of jumping on an abs equipped blade or it's baby brother! The bikes I have been on seems to respond better to an on/off braking methodology but it still puts a bit of doubt in the old noggin whether it's gony come back on you or whether the brakes will do what you demand first time round when you demand it!
Kent, Have you tried pingin the article writer an email with regards to the abs situation? He did include his email askin blade ownin folks to get in touch ok the yr of blade is a bit off but still, it's another person who has first hand experience of the issues involved and the fact he's a journo is added bonus......well not that Honda will really listen rite enuff but expect this issue to become even more apparent next year with every new blade havin abs only options!
Mines a 2013 abs and have the exact same issues every now and then, lever back to the bar but the breaks do work all be it not very well and i also pump them until there good...
So Matt, if we get this off the ground will you put your bike up for checking? 3 owners agreed so far
Not a problem, as i say though, the lever comes back to the bar on occasion but the breaks do work some, but im willing to do what i can
