I have pondered this for a while now, my head says keep it for another year but my heart is saying you are not getting any younger plus the lovely Ling took me to see a nice man in a red shirt earlier this week. It’s an itch that I just might scratch. It’s not a done deal by any means as we haven’t started the stick banging stare down. So, my Fireblade might be going up for sale in the near future: Honda Fireblade July 2011 ABS in black 1 owner from new (Me) 1100 miles only. Due to a combination of poor weather and last years slipped disc. I don't do rain and I certainly don't enjoy pain. FHSH but due a service next month. Mint showroom condition, and I mean mint ask Carl, Matrix or Lambeth they all know this bike. This bike has never been crashed, dropped, track day’d, thrashed or abused in any way. It’s only ever seen the rain once and is stored in a dry garage under a cover on an Abba stand and front axle stands. Extra’s fitted: Akro Carbon can and link pipe (not the Honda upgrade package one) Leo Vince carbon exhaust infill panel OE Tinted high screen OE Hugger OE rear seat cowl OE HRC carbon tank and fuel filler protection R&G Crash bungs R&G fork protectors R&G rear cotton reels R&G weighted bar end sliders Renthal soft grips ASV short levers I also have all the OE parts boxed and unmarked in any way, Receipts and all other paperwork history, owner’s manual, service record booklet and both keys. As I have said, it’s not a done deal and might not even happen. If it’s on I will take £8’000 as it stands with all the extras fitted including all the OE stuff. I have consulted two trade sources over the weekend (one being the supplying dealer) who have confirmed the above price is more than fair given the mileage, specification and immaculate condition. One final note, I have had quite a few blades over the years, all have been kept in the same way as this one and all sold to the first person who turned up. I have never had any complaints. Anyone interested ?
he's going no where I bloody hope, shame your selling but all teh best with this and the new bike don't be a stranger
The blade might be, but I am going nowhere. Someone's got to bang your heads together, just look at what’s happened to the forum and I was only off line for two weeks.
When I look at a bike like this, then see mine in the garage I kind of think 'perhaps it really is time I retired Old Oily and got a newer one' But then I think given what my bikes been through its not looking bad and still goes well - but wonder I'll chop it and a mint / better than new bike like that is perfect Good luck with the sale - will be a swift one I have no doubt as it looks stunning
No. But just like David Moyes he has a lot of work to do to prove himself worthy of earning a bonus, so far its just pre game bullshit with no proactive action or sign that he knows anything about game strategy let alone how to score. If he doesn’t buck his ideas up the only sight of a cheque book he will see is when I hit him round the face with it. I suppose it shouldn’t surprise me, he does wear a red shirt after all.
Interesting.....no nibbles. Shame really as the red shirt is tucking quite nicely, but still away to go before I get my Montblanc out.
My nib is not on the paper just yet, but the top is unscrewed. We are getting close, very close. My local dealer needed to register one to meet dealer targets. So it’s a 2013 specification on the table, registered 1st July, 29 miles on the clock only ridden by the head mechanic who pdi'd it to 'make it a used bike'. The DP and I sat on the curb banging sticks for a while this afternoon but it was just too hot in the sunshine so we cut to the chase. I told him what I wanted, he told me what he needed and we parted with him to stroke his chin for a day or two on the understanding that the bike does not get used by anyone else and the mileage remains as it is. We shock hands on our agreement and he needs to think about how he juggles internal funds, cost centres and budgets, whatever he needs to do to make it happen. I am ready to go red, the balls in his court. We will see, if it happens, it happens. If not I am happy to keep the blade and see if the red itch returns next spring. Whatever happens it won’t be me that blinks first.
Funny you should mention that Pete They tucked this morning, I got everything I wanted, cracking price, and I mean cracking.....10% off the price of the termi exhausts, DP carbon tail tidy, DP high screen, and couple of other bits of carbon all fitted free of charge. 10% of any future purchases of Ducati accessories and servicing. I then suggested they throw in a paddock stand as a good will gesture as I have discovered Abba don't do an adaptor for the Pani I was told go forth and multiply, that’s it, take it or leave it. Going for a test ride on their demo bike tomorrow morning and if I like it it’s a done deal…..with pen and credit card in hand I might just add, go on then if your techs soften the suspension to suit my svelte 80/85 kg, it’s a done deal, now where do I sign.
My heart says 'you work hard, just go ahead and do it' head says ' it’s a shed load of money, so make sure its what you want'. If I like it, it’s a done deal but I won’t be disappointed or lose a wink of sleep if I don’t. I will be content and happy the itch has stopped and I can relax and enjoy my blade until the weather breaks, then sit back and see what next year brings.
Stay with the blade mate, i have a mate with a panni and to be honest it aint that quick, its just the latest" must have toy" Dont get me wrong it looks the mutts nuts and sounds absolutely bonkers but for point and squirt scratchin the blade wins hands down
