Hi Shaun, first thing I do with any bike I own is fit a power commander, K+N air filter and get a custom map fitted. This gives a bit more power (which you don't really need) but more importantly it smooths out the power delivery. Honda has never been known for getting it's fuelling right especially low down the rev range. Next on my list would be suspension, either fitting aftermarket shock or having existing re-worked and a stage one conversion on the front forks. 2004 blade is getting a bit old so you might want to look at braided hoses to enhance braking power. Last on my list would be an aftermarket can, gets you a couple of extra bhp but a hell of a lot of unwanted attention and doesn't actually improve your riding experience.
Depends what you want, some fit sparkly, shiny bits and turn it into a tart's handbag but personally I like to try and improve the handling characteristics of the machine. Everyone's different, each to their own.

First thing would be to get the suspension set up for your weight, braided brake lines all round, then maybe increase the rear sprocket by 1 tooth from orignal....... enjoy :)

I do the mods in order of

    suspension,
    exhaust,
    flapper mod,
    power commander and filter,
drop a tooth on the front

    then the rest is cosmetic
