Well they always say Kawazaki engines are bullet proof, but i've got 2 mates who own them that have both had to source replacment engines.
Saying that it's not like they've had them from new so history is bit of an unknown really!

i can highly recommend a 600f as i had 2, both 1999 models and my friend has a 1998 zx-6r and as long as you keep it above 8k it will suprise you just how fast it is even for a 600

I've had experience of two of these, the first one was to use as a trackbike. I bought it from Cheshire Motorcycle Salvage and suspected it had been in a crash, gear selector went costing me £600. The second one was bought for my partner on a private sale and that was bloody fantastic! Handled like a dream and plenty fast enough. Made me grin every time I threw a leg over it. The point is, I think they're a great bike but just make sure you read the signs that it's been looked after. They make a great first bike and although they are pretty quick in the right hands they're not too intimidating for a lesser experienced rider.

If it's an F1 check the frame under the air intake pipes, they used to crack if the bikes been used/wheelied hard.
