Due to popular request I have now taken the baffle out of the akra exhaust. It wasn't without it problems, though. I found it difficult to remove the locking nut located on the wheel side of the can, so much so that the socket I was using fell off into the void in the carbon section of the exhaust. As a result I then had to remove the end can and play games shaking the can while laying on my back to get the socket back through the access hole. Anyway, after that small heart -sinking moment when I thought the socket had dropped into some inaccessible void, it's all put back and is fine. The sound is much throatier, but not ridiculously so. I've also just added some R and G cotton reels, so the back end looks much better (in my humble opinion).

Thanks for all the advice guys - I have little doubt that I will be back for more in due course in readiness for the next mod.

I am about to add pictures of the naked end can to my albums together with pics of the handlebars (as requested) for advice re which levers to buy.

I wasn't joking :) well done mate, sorry if we caused you a minor heart attack with your new baby, only a few days old and its voice is breaking, will be a fire spitting race bike next week :)

I bought some pazzo copy levers, they are like marmite on this forum, some love them some hate them, I have had them fitted for 8 months now, done a trackday at cadwell and 2500 miles and no problems at all, or you could get the proper Pazzo levers or Gilles, Brembo Master cylinder and matching clutch lever or ASV the list goes on and on :)

If you fancy a read here is my thread from when I fitted mine, sure there will be some more input from others very soon :)

    Thanks Jamie.

Just read your previous thread re the levers - I'm now aware that it's not just politics and religion that cause world wars, it's also one's choice of accessories! Anyway, I remain undecided as I continue to ponder the views of both camps on the subject of cheap imports. I will let you know what I decide (probably via PM to ensure there are no further outbreaks likely to require diplomatic intervention!) There must be a UN convention covering this emotive subject????

    Take care

    Mick
