I have just bought a 2013 Blade and it has the standard can on.

I would like something a bit less silent so was thinking of changing the can. The bike is however still covered by Honda's warranty.

Will changing the can void it?

    cheers

when i bought my 10 plate blade it came with a yoshi R77 from new, i had problems with the cam chain adjuster which was replaced under warranty in a different dealer and no one mentioned the can.
so the answer i guess is No.

Mate, they argue the toss over safety items like brakes when you your bike is standard, so I can't see a can really changing much about their warranty policy ;)

Best option is to have the dealer fit it then you will be 100% inside warranty! Always works for me.

Hmm. Local dealer quoted £700 for a carbon akra!

I bought my blade new, never been back to Honda for a Service. And this would not be a issue if it was in warranty

Same goes for a exhaust. as long as it is not damaging the engine and why I like to get it running right with Dyno time when I fit a new Exhaust.

I would not worry about it

Cool, thanks, I'll check with the dealer first.

Anyone used a Taylor Made exhaust? They look great IMO but no idea on quality, sound or ease of fitting.

very Marmight exhausts, some love them some hate them. I like the looks BUT heard the quality of them is very poor. But thats only what I heard so may not be what you get now

IMO the best looking exhaust is the R77 carbon, the racefit growler also looks brilliant, although they are louder. Anything is better than the standard exhaust, as long as you get some sort of fuel commander to go with it, or you will hate the way it rides without one.

The yoshi one is nice. Surprised you need a power commander just for the can. Is it because they replace the cat?

I bought mine with the bike, but I'm loving the akropovic anniversary can.
Not obscene (can't do track day) loud but has a much better note than the rust bucket thats on as standard.
As well as It sails through MOTs and Mr Plod can't do NOWT!
    woohoo

Akrapovic will be ok without a power commander both my 10 and 13 bikes ran fine, obviously if you want to get the best out of the bike a PCV and dyno time to get a custom map would be advisable, also the CAT on the 08-13 bikes is in the can so removed when the std exhaust comes off, the 14 now has it attached to the headers I believe.

Taylormade look good but again I have seen the quality of the can behind it and I wouldnt have one ... Yoshi, racefit, leo vince and Akra are all very good.

As for warrenty I have had no issues with my dealer with either bike with any of my mods, so see no reason why you should... their sports pack for the bike incluedes an Akrapovic exhaust ;)

The anniversary can, I love its titanium look as I find that carbon looks wicked but greys up with age

Don't fit one it WILL affect your warranty, null and void as will all other aftermarket non Honda parts, it's fact.

I did look at getting a new bike before I found mine and was told the akra one the dealers sell has a Honda part number and as such will not void the warranty. Just wasn't sure if other cans would.
