I have just fitted an Arrow GP2 exhaust to my 2012 blade, where the link pipe fits onto the header there is no exhaust clamp as it is just an interference fit. I have fitted a retaining spring to make sure there is minimal movement but I am a bit concerned about long term exhaust blowing. Is there a sealer I could use that is not messy and also does not make it difficult to remove later. Maybe I am worrying too much and it is ok as it is. What do you guys think?
Tbh I wouldn't bother as sealants can be more hassle than they are worth when it comes to removing, someone used some on the akra I bought and I end up having to cut and dremmel the link pipe off, so I could use end can to fit my headers
I always used to use clear silicone sealant on my 2-stroke kart exhaust as that was always having to come off for inspection. Just about does the job but not pretty. Easy to remove once cured though if you want to try something else after.
Do it. I had trouble when fitting my Yoshi RS5 to my RR7. I did a very neat job using 'gum gum' and exhaust bandage to fill what was a definite gap between the can and link pipe. It didn't work, too hard and brittle, after a few weeks it stared blowing. Got some HT silicone sealer (below) that did the job great, filled the joint and a year later its as good as the day it was done.
That's the stuff. I just used regular sealant as a permanent fix wasn't needed but this looks like what you'll need. Good shout Mike.
