As the title says, really. Sun's out. I've got the afternoon off, the bike's taxed, my breakdown cover's renewed, the tyre pressures are correct, the chain's cleaned and lubed, the MOT's done, the insurance is done, the oil's at maximum (thanks for the reminder, Martin) and the roads are dry. Nothing else to do but go and ride!

All very well. But are you really happy?

Not that I'm bitter or anything.

It was great to get out but the roads are still very wintery. Road salt and assorted crap all over the place. Including a nice 2x4 in the middle of the road which I just managed to avoid clattering in to.

Temperature didn't half drop like a stone once the sun started to dip though. My girlfriend saw 14°C at lunchtime when she went out to get lunch and then 3°C when she got into the car at 5 o'clock to come home.
