Well sick of this weather, so decided to go bugger around with the air intake today. Had already removed the flapper vacuum chamber / solenoid under the left fairing, and had the obligatory bolt in the air pipe, but decided today to remove the vacuum operated flapper from the front of the air intake. After I got the intake out, I cut the flap in 3 pieces, so that the 2 x smaller flaps could be Araldite'd back into place.. also glued a piece of plastic I cut out of a CD case onto the intake at the hole left from the vacuum diaphragm (bit ugly but will do the job). Finally cut away any plastic that was in place for the flapper from the front of the intake.. looks much cleaner (and mouthy'er) now
Well went a step further tonight.. couldn't bring myself to order a €200 Euro Carbon Air Intake, so further buggered around with my OEM one. Couple of pics.. don't care if it doesn't bring any HP gains.. was a bit of fun tinkering And on another note.. I know I'm trying to diet this month.. but look at what the wife made me for tea tonight after having a bowl of fresh air for lunch! Its not on haha..
haha.. We are posh you know lol..no we save deep fried for only the Mars bars and Ferrero Rocher nowadays!
When I was working in Hamilton, we popped into a fish and chip shop where I ordered a burger and chips, even the burger came out deep fried in batter. I couldn't eat it but by the Square sausages can not be beaten
