I'm preparing to install my new akrapovic racing line exhaust to '12 blade, but i'm a bit confused with header gaskets because they are not mentioned in akrapovic instructions. Do i have to buy new oem gasket from honda, use the old gaskets or do i install gaskets at all? thanks guys.

You should have everything you need to fit them, I'm crap with names but you should have 4 round ring things that goes inside each exhaust port, then 4 flange things that have the bolt and spring holes in them go over the top. Header pipes go inside, when its all lined up do the bolts up and you should be good to go after checking for leaks

You don't need gaskets with the akro system. The sleeves have flanges on which sit in header outlet and its all pulled tight with the flange and studs . The springs then hang of these and onto the hesders . I also thought you had to buy gaskets when I first fit one. Just follow the instructions . Bit of grease here and there to help with assembley.

A good run yo to temp gets everything set and seated. Great system .

Gaskets are ususlly the problem causing blowing etc

    :)

No need to re use the gaskets on the Akra system. You get an inner sleeve and a flange that bolts to the engine using the original studs.

The header pipes are attached to the flanges using the supplied springs. Just remember to clean the full system before you fire it up!

So, do i take the gaskets off, or leave them in? I wonder why akra instructions don't mention them..

+1 for leaving them, don't see them causing any problem if left.

okay, thanks. I'll email them just to be sure, because similar Yoshimura full system instructions says:

"Remove stock exhaust port gaskets as they will not be used with the Yoshimura system"

The gasket is the copper ring right? If so, I left them in when I installed my yoshi and not noticed any problems

    Calsport:

All parts required for fitment are included (brackets/fittings/link pipe etc.) with full fitting instructions. This is developed to fit without fuel modification, and give you the unique Akrapovic racing sound. Port gaskets are not required.

    We'll wait their response :)

Seems that Akra doesn't bother to answer questions to us mortals, so i did send mail to Calsport, cause I knew they have a great customer service and they replied almost instantly. They recommeded to use hi temp silicone gasket or new oem crush-type gaskets, so i ordered a set of oem exhaust gaskets from local Honda dealer. If akra doesn't reply and say don't use them before they arrive, i'll install the system with new gaskets. :)

it was pain in the ass, but it's there. Installed with new honda stock port gaskets.I did quick check in idle and everything seems good, no leaks etc.. More testing tomorrow.
