    Hi all
But of a newbie problem here I know but I have installed my akrapovic slip on but have noticed that exhaust is leaking though the joint between the link pipe and the cat (shown in pic). When I took off the original silencer there was a gasket which I removed as the akra link pipe would never have fitted over it. Question is do you guys install a gasket to give it a good seal and if so which one?? Cheers

Pretty sure I left the gasket in place when I fitted my Arrow slip on.

Have you tried using exhaust sealant?

The OE gasket does have to be removed... it is massive and the Akra would never fit without removing the gasket.

I bought my exhaust second-hand, so I bought the fitting kit from Akra. This included nice new springs and clamps, but also a tiny little tube of bright blue exhaust paste. This is supposed to be used at the joint between the link pipe and OE, but also between the link pipe and end can.

Tell a lie... it's "Ceramic Grease" not exhaust paste:

Nonetheless, seems like you need to get yourself some.

Did you clean the OE pipework before attempting to clamp the link pipe over it? If not, try a good going over with wet 'n' dry to remove all the surface corrosion.

Thanks for the advice guys. Thing I'm going to strip the exhaust off and give the OE pipe work a good clean as you said Gappy. I might have been to keen to get the akra on. Ill try that first before I resort to using a sealant
