Guys I just installed my new akrapovic slip on on my 16 plate blade.

Quick question, cable routing is it OK for it to touch the link pipe etc? Seems a bit long to me and after a test ride round the block yesterday I noticed it had slipped and touched the link pipe to the exhaust.

    Image attached.

    Cheers.

Is your silencer the one with both O2 sensor fitting and exhaust valve? I would be interested to see how you find the running of the engine compared to the standard silencer as I am considering it as a replacement

Both the items are part of the fueling system and I do not want to bypass either and the akro is the only one I have seen that keeps both.

I know the valve makes a difference to the sound but I believe there is more to it: creating back pressure in a certain rpm range. In fact the standard exhaust has another (spring loaded) internal flap which again affects the back pressure.

Have you contacted akro directly or their importer about this issue?

The cable on mine snapped and I didn't notice. I have now removed it. Bike runs fine without it - not too noisy either!

Yeah, agree with sinewave. Dump the cables, they serve no earthly good. Bikes much better with no valve.

    hi guys.
when you say the bike runs ok without it is it with reference to standard silencer & unmodified bike?

If so, this would give me the option of not replacing it if it breaks :)

I left mine off when fitting my ackro, the cable was on standard can and used to get on my tits when opened at 4000 rpm
