What is the best Alarm for deterring passing fiddlers, as in when the Bikes parked up in Town or at a Cafe etc.

Am thinking proximity deterrents so the Alarm yaps at em if they get too close etc.

I don't consider an Alarm much use against a professional Thief though so that is a secondary concern really.

My datatool one, which is universally hated and despised on here but touchwood has behaved itself for me so far, has a very twitchy trembler alarm. A knuckle tap on the tank will start it growling and bitching, but no proximity detector, I'm afraid.

I've got an Averto one, shipmate. Behaves itself but a bit quiet.

Had a datatool 3 on my Speed, very very sensitive...could even fart near it and it went off! Took a gamble(Dealer recommended it over the Averto)and had one fitted to my 2012 Blade - brilliant so far, maybe the dealer set it to a less sensitive setting? However give it a tap on the body and it goes nuts - just what is needed when one is away from the bike... but as you will find on here - you pays your money you takes your choice.

Just getting my datatool s4 removed as it keeps draining the battery, every alarm I have had has caused me nothing but problems, I don't think they work as a deterrent anymore, so will not be fitting another anytime soon.

I have a Datatool System 4 Red on my 2012 blade - been good as gold apart from a few freak set-offs relating to the rear seat magnetic switch. I've got the sensitivity right up to the point I can't even touch the tyres without getting a warning beep.

I can't see it stopping the bike being lifted but hopefully it's enough deterrent to persuade Mr Thief to find an easier nick.

Question to those that have had myther..........................

Are these system 4 models and were they proffessionaly installed?

    Question to samd1985..............................
My Bike is a 2012 model also, was yours a Pro install and if so how much was it?

As I said before the Alarm is mainly to stop sticky fingered kids etc pawing at me baby when parked up, I have other deterrents for Theft prevention at home!
