Farewell to my new blade that replaced my other fairly new blade. 45 mins parked outside my parents place in Barnes and the thieves pounced. No problem, I thought. I cunningly implanted a GPS device in her. Nope - they thought of that too and have a jamming device to render it useless. So 2 bikes gone in as many months. This one with 70 miles on the clock. Careful out there folks. These professionals have no worries about cutting locks, breaking steering locks and pushing these things away in broad daylight surrounded by people and cctv. Insurance will pay again, but I dread to think how much I'll need to pay for the next premium. If they'll even insure me at all.
Feck me, that's shocking pal. I'd avoid planes, trains and auto mobiles for the near future with your luck
It does make you wonder though, why are the manufacturers not making more progress with anti theft devices? Tilt switches to set off alarms, GPS trackers as standard, data tagged from factory etc etc
Surley it would be simple to set a trap , lots of traps , police could do this all over the place,,but as no-one gets hurt , they don't give a shit Hard luck mate,,can you get the new model now ?
That's shit fella...trouble is there is absolutely no deterrent for the pond life that commit these crimes. If it was up to me they'd be getting the William Wallace treatment.

Thanks guys. Really is shitty luck - just happened to stop by my folks for lunch and you don't think you'll need to carry a ground anchor and chain everywhere you go. Lesson is that you're not allowed a nice bike in London unless you keep it hidden and never use it locally. I think my only option now is to find an '09 and insure it 3rd party, no theft. No logic to insurance. I can find a decent rate on an '09 3rd party but if I wanted to be braver and get a new one 3rd party only, the cheapest is 4x the price. If they're not insuring me for theft anyway, why should it make any difference?! Anyway, will leave it for a couple of months and settle with the insurers before I figure it out. Won't be doing a track day till late march at the earliest anyway.

Can't understand why some of the bikers in theft ridden areas don't get together and set a few honey traps. Although I'd never advocate violence (oh yeah! You've changed haha) a few bruises would soon put them off.
I think I'd be tempted to aim a bit higher to prevent them producing any more similar scummy offspring
Scumbags, I hope something is going to be done for all you people who live in these vulnerable areas. The punishments aren't severe enough even if they are caught. Out of interest, how many of you let your bikes out of your sight? I live in the North West so the risk is low here but even so if my bike is outside my garage it doesn't leave my sight. If I'm at a cafe, I make sure I can see the bike from the window or better still sit outside with it. I never go to visit anyone on my bike if I can't see the bike easily or I think it's a dodgy area. Sad way to have to live I know but I can nearly guarantee I'll never have a bike stolen from me. I know that's not realistic in London so I really feel for you @lexathon
