    So please forgive me if it's an obvious answer.

    But why is the nose cone ram air intake really popular with 600's but not as much with 1000's?

    I think its the same, all the bikes use ram air, 600's use a central air scoop 1000's use two sited each side

    a lot of it has to do with the airbox position.but not all thou's have double intakes 04-07 blades,aprilla's,zx10's etc..

    It's mostly aesthetics that dictates it, a 600 Is meant to be tiny, to have side inlets would make the fairing wider thus bigger.
