Just booked on this as season finisher

Epic track right on coast - no greasy leaves, no risk of frost either

    Anglesey - GP | 26 October 2013 | Focused Events

Me and 2 mates booked - all in Inters

Can 'just' get there and back in a day without hotels (lond day mind) from Manchester (2 hours towing each way)

This circuit is on my list for next year Al, hope to get a weekend deal when they come up.
Have a great time with "the fridge" and expect a full report of the day :)

Prices have increased substantially now the garages have been finished off - when it was first rebuilt with no facilities it was cheapest track in UK, now its a different story.

Its a good track early season due to location and lack of frost - that said the last instructor who tried to follow me to give me tuition ended up in an air ambulance after turn 1...

Massive 'thankyou' to focused for being very deceitful in their email today when they wrote to advise the event was cancelled.

They worded it to imply the circuit had cancelled but reality was they pulled it for low sales.

As a further kick in the teeth they refuse to give a refund, only leave it on account for use against a future event.

Suggest people use credit cards when paying focused events as then I believe you can get a refund from your card provider.

Shame as I was looking forward to it.

Bunch of testicles FE in my opinion, can't fault No Limits for the way they run their trackdays.

This line is on the original confirmation email:

We maintain the right to cancel any reservation or booking up to and within 12 hours of an event. We will transfer any cancelled booking to an alternative event, any price difference will need to be paid by the customer, or issue a credit note for use at a later date. The credit note does not have any time limit applied.

And the content of the message sent originally is here:

    Dear Focused Events Customer,

Unfortunately and with regret we have had to cancel the track day for ANGLESEY on the 26th of OCTOBER. We do apologise and we have a few options for your consideration which consist of either transferring to another bike track day or a second option would be leaving your money as credit on the system.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    Kind Regards & Stay Focused

    Kelly Smith

I assume they've done this as the amount of Peeps who've booked plus the likely 'Jonny come lately's' will not be enough to make a profit on the day so they've just pulled the Plug?

    Yep - I think so

Just very annoying when you ask for a refund and its NO, but I want a refund 'NO' - I really want a refund 'NO'

guess its £60 towards the Euro day I am being talked into

Focused Events have now written to offer refunds on this, mainly because my mate phoned up, asked for refund and was refused, so asked to speak to a manager as wanted to discuss the breach of the point x of the 1977 consumer credit act or something.

I am thinking of emailing them this note in response to the email

This was a very poor way you have treated customers over this issue - it has been widely reported on many owner / rider forums of the stance you took on this and the response of your office when customers directly asked for a refund was frankly shocking.

I will be contacting your office for a refund and will give serious consideration to booking an event with Focused Events in future - luckily there is an alternative track day operator in the UK who take a rather different approach to customer service.

It is a shame it took customers to teach you about financial legislation / consumer credit act to resolve it.
