Just been reading about another French Law

Motorcyclists should have reflective stickers on front, side and back of helmets.

130 euro fine, if caught without

Anyone from the UK, been 'done' by the French Police ?

Asking as off in a couple in a couple of weeks to Nice

Big orange stickers not going to look good on the Simpson, but at least will match the Repsol

Surely it can weaken the helmet,as the manufacturer states no stickers are to be put on the outer shell. This can invalidate your lid warranty.Over here you cannot use side yellow reflectors on the rear of any vehicle it has to be red.You could use this excuse.
Plain bonkers if you ask me.I'd go without and put a couple in your bag, just in case.

Back in the day, a friend of mine was an RAF technician. He gave me a few off cuts of the fluorescent green and orange self adhesive tape used as formation flying guides for aircraft. I promptly cut them down and a neat set of Native American war paint stripes for mine and my mates helmets. Boy did they look cool at night.

A few months down the line, while picking up my lid I was alarmed when my finger went through it where the sticker was...

    Lesson learned there.

By all accounts it's an old law that's been in place for some 25 years?

older lids could after been affected.doesnt affect modern helmets,
sure the majority of helmet designs out there are stickers lacquered over.

Don't think it's anything to worry about, as Garyb says above its an old law. Can't say I've ever seen french riders with anything other than normal off the shelf helmets. I've been riding in, through and around France every year for over 10 years now and never had any problems.
I think you'd have more trouble by not having registration docs, licence and a GB sticker.

Same here re lids, it's not an issue.

I do know French locals all have the reflective stickers on their lids.

As others say, first thing they ask for are your papers

But are they not banned in France due to being restricted?

I have been to France for the last two years and they seem to bring in new laws then remove them every year.
We were stopped by French police this year and when they saw our UK plates they just waved us on.
Don't think they can be bothered, just after the frenchies
    I'd take no notice
