2013 has seen another deflection - at this point in time it is unclear if this will become permanent deflection or kept for special events... All that can be said is that the owner is sat here feeling like that cat that got the cream! The contents will be revealed shortly...
Colin -you can see part of it there - is not obvious lol Next pic to follow in a few mins - and yes Barney - my 'cryptic' post of 'I would come but I've got to wait for a delivery' should have given it away... And those who know don't give the game away just yet
So here it is - Bit of a story (as there always is with stuff I buy!) - 2010 model year bike, Registered brand new Sep 2012 with full Yamaha warranty, I'm second owner and the mileage on it...
Now then Barney Normally I hate the look of them but that is really fecking nice mate. So much so the girlfriend just said to me, why don't you get 1 of those
Where is the race seat cowl dude? I bet that's sounds awesome on full chat .What are the run in miles to do?
Not sure about running it in yet - the 'In your face' bright as the sun shift change lamp (which this bike needs as it revs like a 2 stroke all the way) is set at 7,000 - so I imagine at 600 mile 1st service that is released - running it in low power mode - still got baffles in at the moment. Colin - I think it is actually a £50 sticker kit just very well applied to a stock Black R1
Cheers, the Quill end cans and R&G tail tidy help no end - with the stock stuff it looks so different Never had a new bike before - special day for sure.
Make sure it's got the latest cam chain tensioner. Yamaha didn't issue a recall but an issue with oil draining from the tensioner has been identified causing a very noisy startup. Yamaha will replace under warranty, worth checking with the supplying dealer. I can do some digging if you let me know the reg or vin.
Reg is on photos - its Padgetts of Batley who supplied it initially to first owner I know Clive so will ask - plan to take it there for 1st service when its ready so will ask in advance - its a 'first generation' R1 but full support / cover from September 2012 as though brand new if that makes sense.
Hope you get on with it, got a mate that had that model r1 and he said its the worst r1 model and he's had a few of the other models. He chopped his in quite happily for his Repsol and said the honda is a miles better bike. Still there's others I know that love them and think they are great so let's hope you love it and not hate it.
