Interesting little item in RIDE magazine about an insurance claim. Person had an accident and claimed on his insurance to have his bike repaired, bike came back with second hand panels and front wheel. Apparently some very cheap insurances have written in the small print that they can use salvaged parts to repair damage and because they may not be based in the U.K. it could be difficult to pursue them through the legal system to get recompence.
Most insurance companies are jumpin on this band wagon, friend of mine works for a large accident repair centre and they've been doing it for years, bit of a double whammy tho coz they charge the ins company for brand new oem parts but the insurance companies have cottoned on to this and are doing it themselves now.
