    This is more a question of guiding me as to which premium I should choose.
    My eBike policy is about to expire. Last year I paid £174 TPF&T with £0 excess at 2 yeas NCB.
    I now have 3 years NCB and have the following quotes on comparethe market.com:-

    Hastings = £117.13 TPo + free Legal cover. Excess = £0
    Bennets = £102.55 TPF&T + £30 Legal cover. Excess = £350
    eBike = £135.84 TPF&T + £0 Legal cover. Excess = £0
    Hastings = £167.61 Fully Comp + £20 Legal cover. Excess = £400

    I like the idea of £0 excess, but that comes at a cost, although I also like the idea of moving up to Fully Comp.
    Thoughts anyone?

    for me it would be fully comp all day at that price even with the excess, being tpft I would think it would cost more than 400 to repair if you bin it

    Yeah it's not just the cost of shelling out £400 if i bin it though, it's the next 5 years in insurance hikes that go with it. I may well still go fully comp, but that's what's making me think twice.

    Fully Comp with as low an excess as you can afford. Might be a year early to go for protected No Claims but could be worth looking.

    Def. fully comp. Mate dropped his 2011 blade at no more than 20mph & Honda wanted £3200 to repair :eek:

    Fully comp mate, always worth that peace of mind. I always stick £0 voluntary excess now as it only seems to make a few quids worth of difference and it beats shelling out that few hundred extra pounds if the worst happens. I think this year it made a difference of £12 between premiums with a zero excess and one at 350.

    I think you've all convinced me to go fully comp then. I'll do a few more comparison searches (moneysupermarket, quidco, confused etc) and see if they improve.

    With a quote like that, WTF would you go for anything except FullyComp? That's worse than the arguments about mpg... A £12k bike and you're worried about less than £50 (2.5 tanks of fuel!) for the difference over a years insurance?

    Or were you just skite-ing... I can respect that.

    Have you seen my bike? It's not worth £12k :D
    It was more about the excess, but my mind's made up now. Just gonna do some more searches in case others have a lower excess and i'm done.

    As it's due on the 25th of this month I've had the last few quotes come in at the following, although Confused.com seem to be confused about how much they want to charge for an RR5 as they quote £15 more if it's manufactured in 2006. How the hell am I supposed to get a proper quote for an RR5 registered in March 2006 which is still an obvious 2005 bike???

    Confused.com
    Hastings = £154.54 Fully Comp. Excess = £400

    Moneysupermarket.com
    Hastings = £155.63 Fully Comp. Excess = £400

    Gocompare.com
    Motorcycle Direct = £189.57 Fully Comp. Excess = £600

    My insurance is a bit more than your quotes £228.00 comp 6 NCB protected, the excess is also more at £600.00 but again protected which means I only pay the first £100 if I'm found at fault.

    I just renewed with MCE and you get 15 months for the price of 12 and it was about £80 cheaper than last year coming in at about £295 TFT with 1 year no claims.
