I use Oxford, but was staggered at the ease of breaking it with bolt cutters. I guess there is an element of risk with all security products.

I use 'back up' with an alarmed disc lock - Oxford Quartz.

Thick Wire cable is harder to cut with bolt cutters, but a cordless grinder will cut through anything , security only works with honest people, try to make it hard work to pinch , hate to think I had to leave my bike on a road over night ,

Likewise. i don't think I could do it unless I had just a crap bike.

Having your bike stolen is a terrible feeling. Happened to me once, years ago, I was gutted. I am fortunate I have a garage and bike theft isn't as bad here as it is for you lot. Best you can do is make it more difficult for the thief.

I've got an Almax Series 3 with a big Squire lock that I bought with it. Don't use it anymore since I moved to a house where the garage is part of the house and alarmed.

If anyone's interested in buying it.

Can I ask the length and condition of the chain BoroRich?

Also, any ideas on how much you'd want for it?

    Thanks

Hello mate. It's a 1.5 metre chain. I've got the Squire SS65CS lock to go with it too if you're interested.

    I'll PM you a price.

I have a cordless grinder that will go through most locks in seconds, I start with plenty of security lights outside and in the garage, then 3 alarm systems, bike and house, finally the ground anchor. I use 100w led lights, it might look like a football ground when you get close but puts intruders off

Jeez, Jez. You've got more security than I have cleaning products!!:D

Good move though. My view is that you can't be 'oversecure'. I have a basic CCTV system sweeping my front door and lounge room. If there's nothing good on TV, I'll play it back and watch my animated discussions with Seventh Day Adventists trying to introduce the Gospel into my Biking Heaven.

My son used to motorcross with a kx450, this sport is renowned for trouble, we had a visit during the night they just folded our up and over door in half and came in, luckily I had security lights in the garage that then put them off, since then I have spent a lot more money on lights and new police approved door

Nigeirb, You have made me think, cctv on the bike so you can watch it from inside the house, I would just have to fit it under the covers.
