My car wouldn't start this morning :-(

Was driving fine yesterday as i drove home from work. Gets up for work this morning and its not starting. The battery is strong and you can here the starter motor whirring away.

I think it may be some sort of sensor that's gone.

Its a Vauxhall Corsa 2009 1.2 SXi with 57k on the clock.

Any ideas would be great thanks

    :)

Should be straight forward to diagnose being a petrol.
Are there any errors? Do you have a plug in diagnostic tool?

Can you hear the fuel pump running when you switch the ignition on? If not check for fuel cut off reset button ( Google for exact location) I'd check that first if it were mine

From looking it could be a fuse not a switch on the later ones. Worth a look before going into bigger more expensive options

    Yeah Gav

I can't hear the pump priming when I turn the key to position 2.

That'd be where if be looking first switch/ fuses, then relay, then finally pump not done much on the later stuff tbh but that's the way I'd be looking

100% crankshaft sensor!! Friends one had the same last year and it's well documented, changed it for her in about 30 mins, you need to get the car as high as possible and climb under and to the back of the engine, towards the bulkhead.

Check for feed at fuel pump, try hitting bottom of fuel tank in case pump sticking

    Bingo Dave.

It was indeed the crankshaft sensor. Car now starts and runs fine.
