Does anybody have any experience of this kind of bike stand Bike Grab| Motorcycle Stand and Wheel Chock I have to keep my bike across the back of the garage and don't have the space to get in onto the paddock stand and keep it square. I'd rather store it upright and it would gain me another foot or so of space if I could. I've seen a few of these type advertised and wondered if they would be any good.
You cant see it much here, but its the only photo i have of a bike in it until the new one arrives next week.......did I mention I was getting my new bike on Tuesday????
Just thought I would mention it.....its a brand new Repsol you know! Yeah, three rawl bolts keep it down to the floor. It does take a bit of getting used to to get it out of the stand - its quite hard until you find the technique!
As you asked for opinions how about getting your hand in your pocket and extend the garage a bit or get rid of some of the shit you are hoarding.
Are you getting a new bike on tuesday steve ? Where did that come from ? Thought you would of shared that with the forum a bit earlier

Yep..I got the Bike Grab stand as shown on your link..works really well. This type doesn't need to be bolted down to work though you may want to for the security aspect. The side plates need to be adjusted to the tyre size (front or rear) but once set its a doddle to roll the bike in. Definately recommend them. The stand Stevebetts has is similar, they use those on some of the cross channel ferries (Condor Ferries at least) though they're a bit harder to use especially rolling the bike out.
I have one of these, so does my friend. A really good idea, we attach the two to a length of unistrut when transporting track bikes in the back of the van, it holds them in place with just a strap around the front wheel to lock the bikes in place.
Cheers Gregr that's exactly what I needed to know as I'd like to be able to move it when I'm not using it.
