Going to pick up a 2010 with abs I'm 14st 8 a few fellas I work with recommended I change shock nitron i think different fork springs ohlins fork fluid and there Fork valuing kit. It will be mainly a road bike but I would like to do trackdays once I've built up some confidence on it and don't feel I'd make a berk of myself. Bike will be set up at H&M Racing Any suggestions appreciated
Welcome to the forum mate. Nitron is a great shock , but why not try the bike first? You may be wasting cash on a shock you don't need?
Welcome to the forum Few of the boys have been upgrading they're suspension lately , They will be along shortly with they're wisdom
14st 8 is no big issue i am about that and the standard is fine enjoy your bike thats why Honda spends millions on RD just for porkies like us to pratt about on.
Welcome along mate. some very helpful people on here that will sort you out. Sadly i cant help you with this as im 10st 9lb so the standard setup suits me fine
Welcome aboard fella Watch this video before you decide what to do! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDSamYctDF4&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I'm 15st mate and haven't bothered thinking about the shock yet and do track days all the time. Set up is important yes but a shock change before even getting fast isn't really needed IMO , my mate mark always leaves his bikes standard, must weight 14st I'd of thought and he's stupid fast, top of fast group all the time no question. Get the suspension dialed in properly (Colin from 100% is pretty good and he attends a lot of track days) so a base setting will be quite easy. Now if you want it for bling that's a whole different story Welcome by the way
Welcome along, i'm 13st 5 and the standard shock is fine, all i done was got it set up at Peak Performance in Exeter for my weight and the bike felt so much better. So as the guys above have mentioned...... Try the standard shock first with it being set up for your weight, as you maybe just throwing money away buying a new shock. Jay
