    Hi guys

My Daytona 675 track bike has been in storage for 18-22 months, and its time to give it some tlc and get her up and running again.

The bike has been stored in a dry/clean environment, and before it went into hibernation the fuel was drained and run dry.

    The oil was left in.

The battery is flat, and knackered.

So new battery is on order, new oil filter on order, new oil i have already.

Apart from fitting new battery, changing oil and filter, any other tips before I bring her back to life??

Plan on full service once running.

    Many thanks in advance

    Mike

id give the coolant system a v v good flush, also, before you fire it up, remove the sticks or plugs and hit the starter, do that for 10-15 seconds to let the oil circulate and 'prime' the engine.

Check the plugs are not corroded if accessible and make sure the engine turns over ok by rotating the rear wheel when in gear. Thats the engine done, not youve got steering, suspension, wheel bearings and tyres to check, and thats not including brakes, cables, levers, chain etc.

Don't spin it over with the starter! Take plugs out, squirt 3in1 or WD40 down all plugholes. Turn engine over SLOWLY with the cranknut. Spray more light oil in and leave for 24 hours. Repeat the next day. The next day, spin engine over with starter motor to spray light oil out. Refit plugs and start the engine. That's what I did with my Blade trackbike after 18 months.
