Are there any easy upgrades for the rear shock, I don't mean buying an ohlins unit or something, Just a swap from a later model or such like. 08+ shocks seem to be plentiful on e-bay etc, but I think there are issues with the linkage, don't really want to be doing major work or fabrication. Cheers in advance

Some have swapped the standard 04/05 linkage & shock for the 06/07, but TBH getting what you've got setup properly will work wonders.

Yeah, I' m not unhappy with the rear end, just wondered if there was an easy "upgrade". I think cos of it's age the suspension is just a bit tired, I'm planning to get front and rear suspension refurbed this winter anyway, Going for a full service new uprated /rider matched springs and set-up once I've got them refitted.

I had my 06 shock serviced by MCT in Stowmarket which made a huge difference. It seems that Showa use really crap oil. They showed me the oil as it came out of the shock and it looked like a bad cappuccino.

A tad cheaper than a new shock, especially if you want an upgrade from the original.

That's the process of Cavitation turning the oil milky as it gets old.
