I know it sounds like it's bordering on a homosexual invitation But l was thinkin we could maybe get one last blast in before the dreaded gritters drop their corrosive load! And what better place to see the summer out than a wee run through Aberfoyle with lunch at the Forth Inn and a trip over the Duke's Pass to take in Autumn colours as the landscape changes from green to golden red! I was thinkin the weekends of 21st-22nd or 28th-29th weather and work commitments permitting Cheers Trev.
Good on you Trev and if I was closer I would consider this .With the cool air brings a touch of forum panic
Cheers Mike, it's pity you weren't a bit closer it would be good to catch up mate the Trossachs is a nice part of our fine land! We skirted around but didn't venture into Rob Roy Country on our tour! Maybe do the Trossachs next time round
I could also be up for this mate. Love it over there. Used to do a lot of fishing in that part of the country.
Hi Trev If it was a Sunday i would be up for it, I am gigging Saturdays this month. It would be good to get out with you again - Oops that did sound gay Cheers Paul
Hey Paul, Nice one mate! It'll be good to catch up It's more than likely it will be the Sun! So your free to gig on Sat mate You can't let the Salvation Army down buddy have they got you on the tambourine again? Lol Trev
I was up that way last week................we did the "Dukes Pass" 4-5 times.....awesome road!!! not for the faint hearted at the speeds we were doing. They were hole filling just as you rise up the road from Aberfoyle but was clear once you get around the first hairpin...............I wish I was still there.....you lucky bast***ds
The mad thing is mate we have all these awesome roads up here! Yet we don't do them that of often I suppose it'll make them less special the we did! The Dukes pass is only a hour 'n' a bit ride from mine Also the weather is normally shite but this has been an unusually amazing summer
From what the "Locals" were saying..............Snow or at least hail coming as of Monday!!. Another great road we were going to do was one from Creiff to Glen Shee (I,m told it's great) but the weather took a turn and we ran out of time............we're now planning a return about the same time next year for Round 2.....ding ding Game on!!
Yeah Crieff to Glen Shee is a cracking road mate! We were up there 5 weeks ago Altho there was a back road off it, not to sure exactly where about as I was following the group but It would more suited to a trials bike not because of the surface but the undulations it was like a rollercoaster ride my bike took off 2 or 3 times Short steep hill up to blind crest, ever steeper drop down onto tight right hander!!! You never knew what was coming next! Defo not for the faint hearted! Wasn't to keen mate but the rest was heaven
Very Funny Catch up soon hopefully, i have never done the pass, saw it on TV this year and thought I must try it out.
Hi Paul, I've done it umpteen times with bus & car but never on the bike! It's a gorgeous bit road I'll be a virgin on two wheels up there too
Oh I know mate don't mean to sound so desperate Maybe I shouldn't be so up front next time and just surprise them when we're out
Trev..................if I was closer I'd be there but 500 mile ride to do the pass......................I think not !
