Anyone fitted permanent installed bike video recording equipment?

Mate wrote a car off yesterday (he did overtake just as car turned without indicating into small farm track)

He'd fine and the bike will be fixed up ok

Would have been handy to have footage to show what happened - I've thought about it for the 'oh shite' events etc.

Only kit I have found so far is this:

BikeAmigo - Motorcycle Journey Camera, Black Box Video Recorder

Cannot help but think bullet cam and small recorder from ebay would do same job for a fraction of cost (£275)

 

I wonder if your insurance would come down if you had this fitted to your bike?? Good idea thou

 

I doubt my insurance would come down if they saw footage of me riding!

 

I'm sure you could edit that bit out

 

Search for dashcams.
Tiny cameras that come on with the ignition and auto deletes the oldest file when it fills up.

Quite small and discreet.

Became a craze to protect against insurance fraud.
People reversing into other cars on a stationary highway and saying they rearended them in the traffic jam.

Same with trucks. People swerve right in front on a sliproad and jam on the brakes. Lorry has nowhere to go.
Cars a write off and they make big medical claims

 

dashcams are what liveleak lives one....them good old russians.

 

I use a dashcam in the car and would like something similar for the bike but haven't found anything suitable i.e. waterproof yet.
