Check the crank sensor too.It can give the same symptoms as immobilizer faults.

Hi mate with ignition off red light on dash is blinking yes? then when ignition on its solid red light yes? then when you crank it if light dont go out its your imobilizer or key try spare key they have a lot of probs with key losing code!

If light goes out the buy and fit a crank angle sensor T.D.C sensor you will have to cut the loom and fit the modified plug if you fit geniune sensor or get after market bosch and it will plug straight in!

    hope that helps mr!

Hi bats, the immobiliser light is blinking with the ignition switched on, and the car won't start.
The spare key does the same.

Turn the car to start position ie crank engine over if its blinking or staying on while cranking then its a trip to the stealers for reprogramming expect 80 notes + vat!!

I aint a renault tech but been in the game for 18 at a good garage and we get loads of these its always reprogramming if light done go out on cranking but if it does go out its CPS ;)

9 times out of 10 it will be the cps (crankshaft position sensor) it seems to be e weak spot with renaults in general, we change loads of them. You can pick them up for about £20 and easy to fit

Gary, will that cause the immobiliser light to constantly blink when turning it over?
    Whereabouts is the sensor mate?
    It's a 1.5DCi Diesel.

Normally the CPS sits ontop of the bell housing just under the end of the cylinder head, though looking at the autodata tech it is showing it at the front of the engine

    Cheers guy!
Sorted it, it was a combination of immobiliser out of synch, a relay and the fuel pump relay.
