    Hi Guys

Can anyone give any feed back on the new beemer? Can't deny that I'm tempted.

I'd like to see Honda offer up a new Blade, as I'm sure if they produce a next generation Fireblade for 2015 it will be a belter! But if they don't then the BMW seems to be top of the pile for the next year or two.

I love the current blade, every time I ride it I can't fault it. But I'm starting to desire something new and fresh. I've been looking at everything as an option for a new sports bike...Ducati, Aprilia, MV, the rest of the Jap Bikes, but nothing is really doing it for me except the Blade and the Beemer.

Everything that I've read or viewed on youtube seems very positive about the S1000RR..

I'd like to hear from any of you guys about your experience with the BMW if you currently have one, see what all the fuss is about.

    Thanks in advance

    Mike

I have a 2011 BMW S1000rr road bike in motorsport colours and love the look of it and did 1500mls in spain in september and found it very comfy.

Dont like the mirrors they look like they are of a moped and the side stand.

You do need to ride it high up the rev range but once over 9k hold on tight it does not have the midrange like the blade but on the road this is not an issue but i love it .

Similar fuel range to the blade and with the 4 ride modes ,sport, rain, race, slick it has plenty to play with including all the electronics people go on about the sump rusting but mine is fine.

Any more questions let us know

    Cheers Jason

I've read that they're pretty comfy, and pretty good on the reliability front. I think the 2013/14 models are punching out a bit more mid-range, which is nice.

But they do sound the business. The HP4 sounds immense, the automatic damping sounds the fantastic, great for the road so it sounds, but a chunk of change!

I took a test ride on a 2012 one in the summer and nearly bought it there & then. I'm still thinking about it for next spring but I might hold onto by blade for another 12 months and track it.....a lot!

Rusty sumps was first batch of Mk2 models from 2012

Mk2 a much nicer bike, more midrange, comfort etc.

4 mates of mine have Mk2's - one just traded in for an HP4

Its just the looks of the thing I don't get... many turn up second hand with low miles

I am lucky enough to own one of these as a (road bike) and a blade(trackbike) and believe me if you ever got to ride one you would love it and I reckon most people that criticise it if they got to ride one there opinion would change. There are a few things I don't like about it but when I ride it and hit warp speed normally over 9k revs I forget about the little things to enjoy 190bhp. :D

Never said it is a bad bike, i cant judge it in that as i haven't ridden one. I just don't like the looks of it, same with i Wouldnt buy a Honda Civic, good build quality n Japanese reliability but wouldn't buy one as they r ugly looking cars to.

I like my bikes to look good when i take off the covers in the garage, bikes like a Blade n the old cafe racers, i just dont like the front end of the beemer n never whilst it looks like its current state, sorry.

Soon to be followed by ownership :D

Look everyone is entitled to there own opinion , what a world it would be if we all liked the same thing ,
I love the bmw 1000 , and this will soon be in my garage ,
Life's too short to piss about , wondering shall I or not ,
If I've made a mistake when I get one then I'll tell you ,

But like Jason said if most of you rode one you too would change your mind
Or maybe not , yes the bike is expensive , but so is a honda with ABS
That don't work for some ? , I'm most prob going to get slatted for this
But honda are behind the times compared to some of the sports bikes
That are out there now , there's no way I could ride the blade / bmw
    to its full , I just can't but I want a change and that's what I'm doing ,
Like the bm or not who cares , bucket list is now one less .

it's toooooo busy looks wise, not a good looking bike, if you want good looking get a MV312! It's ok if you find a blade to grunty wink wink, if you want something with less midrange then the BMW is great! I had a 2012 s1 as well as my blade and top end is mind bending but mid was flat compared to my 2010 blade, also blade was quicker on most UK tracks, other than big long straights like SS.

Good luck what ever floats your boat I say but NO way it's better than the big H.
