So i was in J&S today (Northwich) looking at what they had to offer, I'm looking at trading mine for a zx10r, got speaking to a sales chap and told him i wanted a zx10 for mine. I explained that i would ride it on the road next year prepping it for track as the year progressed then in 2016 i would use it as my track bike for racing. He said forget that, he could give me a fully prepped brand new zx10 race bike for £9,000. This is something that Kawi are doing to help promote their bikes and help racers out... I would have done the deal there and then but he told me i must first produce my full ACU race licence with details of my race team???? What a deal, your saving thousands and they give you loads of mechanical and tech help for free.... So does anyone happen to have a full ACU licence and race team i can borrow???
I have an Acu. It's easy mate, one day £95 quid and £40 for your license.... As for race team? God knows? Make one up! Lol Interested to hear the spec of the bike though
your race team can be whatever you want it to be.have a look on NLR site, they are still running some ACU test days to get your licence
Yeah but he was saying it has to be a full race licence and not a novice one, didn't know there was such a thing as i know little about the ACU licence???
Can't remember the full spec he mentioned and he probably never mentioned everything but i know he mentioned, full exhaust system, re-worked gear box, race fairings, steering dampener change, suspension upgrade, the brakes stay but are re-worked and thats all i remember...
In that case you will need to do a season as a novice, complete 10 different races on different days, get ten signatures and a clubman to be eligible.... Like I will be next year lol
Doesn't sound too bad does it not sure exactly what suspension upgrade they could offer for £9k but does sound decent must admit.
Yes that's the plan if I race next near ill enter into NL cup even if I start with a bib for a few races.
Ye, you need 10 signatures at 3 different tracks to loose you're novice status and bib. I got 3 this weekend at Donny, two for the endurance on Saturday and one for the MotoGrande 600 today.
There are three grades Novice Clubman National Can race on novice - and nothing stopping you staying at any level. Some classes need certain grades though To get national you have to finish within 10% of race winners I think mate.
It's all on the ACU page. I think no limits have ACU licence days still on this year so thats the first step. just turn up (even on your road bike) and don't ride like a nob and its easy.
When U weigh up all the costs of doing a full year/10 Races/Signatures it'll be cheaper to pay for the Bike ya self!
No...... See i want to do the test and racing anyway so its something I'm going to have stump up for, getting the cheap bike would be a bonus
if thats all it would take to get the kwak cheap,i'll buy you all the brews you can drink aswell as dinner (lunch) on wednesday
