Arai helmet, when is a medium a medium?

Looking at an Arai helmet on e bay . It is a medium. My questions is ; is a medium Arai the same size as a medium Shoei.

I found it to be slightly smaller size wise when trying on a large Arai, compared to my large Shoei.

I've previously had a L Shoei but wear XL in Arai.

 

Not a straightforward question. It will depend on which model from both manufacturers.

I like Arai Quantum and RX7 but I don't fit a Chaser in the same size as the shape is different. I really wanted a Shoei but when I tried one on, there was too much pressure on the top of my forehead. I ended up with another Arai.

the long and short is that you need to try the same model on to really know.

 

Also ask the seller the date made all official Arai have on the chin straps birth date, I have seen some at shows over 4 years old I know not worn and are new but I would not stick my head in one .

 

I have a Large shoei XR1000 and now have a medium arai RX7

 

I had large Arai, but now have a medium AVG.
I do think I got the wrong size in the Arai tho, as it seemed a little loose.
However, since Hutchy signed it the year he did the 5 TT's in a week, it has been retired to the glass case.
