    Morning all.

After much 'uhm-ing' and 'ah-ing' I've finally ordered a slip-on for my 'blade.

Was always swaying between the Akrapovic and the Austin, and curiosity has driven me to go for the Austin.

My only concern is it might be a bit loud, based on what I've read from folk on here. I like loud bikes but don't want to over-do it: and I draw a definite distinction between 'nice sounding' loud and 'bag of spanners' loud.

Anyway, nothing ventured, nothing gained, so we'll see. It may end up on E-bay in a week or so...

Please feel free to reassure me that I've made the correct decision

And, in return, i shall post up pics when it's been delivered and fitted :)

You have made the correct decision to sell it on ebay lol.

Seen loads fitted to rsv4's but not heard 1 on a blade before so i hope it performs well

Austin are very local to me, and i met the mechanic that works for them a week or two back in a bike shop. He was a very nice bloke and did a very convincing job of persuading me the Austin pipes are one of the best for the blade. Personally I have the akra but will be interested in your views once it's fitted.

Does it come with a removable baffle?

JM1, yes it does. Not sure how much difference it'll make, but I'll try it with and without for comparison.

AR's are VERY loud, I had one on a ZX10 for about a day and couldn't be doing with it, hopefully yours will not be as bad (or good depending on your view point)? Have you got it on yet?

Dave, you're quite right. It is f00kin loud. Straight after fitting it, I took it for a quick run and was almost embarrassed to get on the throttle I felt it was so loud.

I fitted the db-killer and that makes a fair difference. But it doesn't sound quite as good - it makes it a bit 'buzzy' if you know what I mean. Anyway, I ran it with the db-killer for a couple of days and then took it out again. Since Tuesday I've been running without the db-killer and I reckon it sounds a bit better. Either it's settling down or I'm getting used to it.

I was walking through town the other day and some lad on a Harley went passed making all sorts of ridiculous noise. I thought to myself 'well, my exhaust isn't as loud as that...' It's definitely growing on me.

Other than being perhaps a tad loud it does sound great: I'm not running a PCV yet, so it hasn't got a bespoke map or anything like that, but it still has improved the throttle response. Sitting at the lights, blipping the throttle, it's much quicker to move off idle and the revs flare a fair bit faster than they did with the standard rig on.

    I'll post up some photos.
