And in half an hour we are off, tunnel tonight, two days across Germany and Spielberg ,Austria Thursday eve for four nights, coming back via Stelvio Pass, looking forward to that one.
A trip to Austria, on a Fireblade, to go and watch some Grand Prix motorcycle racing - how good is that ! Looking forward to seeing some pics, and hearing about the trip. Have a great time, and take it easy (mostly !)
Ohh nice well Jell! Some great roads and great racing!! Have started asking mates what they want to do next year for a trip, was thinking Austria or CZECH REPUBLIC MotoGPs with a nice long ride there and back! Did a two week trip to misano GP last year that was ace!
Friends left Saturday on the Newcastle boat, they have called into the Nurburgring, Cocham on the Mosel river last night and down in the Black Forrest tonight. Austria is way closer than Czech motoGP. For the return they are on the Monday night train from Vienna to Dusseldorf. Then Tuesday ride towards Amsterdam to pickup the ferry back to Newcastle arriving Wednesday morning then back to work Thursday. They are having a great time so far - quite envious but I had my trip in June with great weather to the Swiss Alps.
Well traffic was shit m25 etc. Got to Folkstone, stopped bike spat coolant on the floor, about a cup full, will keep an eye on it today.tunnel at 8.30 am
It's probably less coolant spilt than you think. Is it possible you have topped it up and overfilled it and it is that excess on the floor? Mine did it up a mountain pass in the pyrenees once - was nothing wrong at all
I'm interested how you find it with 4 days to get there. Where are you staying for the Gp? If I head over next year I think I'd book camping at the circuit then it's just possible to head back towards the Alps / home on Sunday if you needed to get back Tuesday night.
Friends made it St.Anton in Austria and had a very wet day with more rain forecast tomorrow - but then it improves for the weekend.
Near saarbrucken, Germany, good night with the locals, local beer, I think my blade has started the crank whining, 2009 3000miles , today some 110mph stints
Folkstone first night,today 320miles 6hours to beckingen,tomorrow 280miles to Nuremberg,lovely city as a tourist,Thursday 300miles to Spielberg,Austria all pre booked
Thanks - not stupid distances for you. Sure the bike will be fine, just keep it steady, 110 not that fast really for Germany - remembering maxing mine on the Autobahn a few times....
