Or sometimes called specs. My question is this Within the zone which is usually set at 50mph how come as i am steadfastley clinging to the wheel keeping dead on 50 every body inc artics are flying past doing 60/70 .Do they know something i don't or are they all thick and will get the ticket in due course .Last night i had a Stobart truck up my arse flashing so i slowed the sucker right down to 5mph then zoomed off laughing my c**t off .so any one in the specs /Police,:mod: game here?

I always cruise control at 55mph in the Vino mobile & never have a problem. Not worth the risk.

I'm with Vino. You're right Giv', it does seem like they know something you don't but I'm too chicken to risk it.

Just think of it as a pit lane and smack the 'cruise'.

The closest I've had to cruise is a sticky throttle on my k1100 work bike ha ha

Just wedge it open and lean back arms crossed!! Used to get some funny looks on the motorway

There's got to be some reasonable tolerance like that. My sat nav and speedo disagree by 4 or 5 mph at motorway speeds.

N.B. Your speedos all read over anyway (unless you've tampered with them of course).

    Sat nav = accurate
Speedo = intentionally reads about 7% over

Totally agree. If my sat nav is showing 50 then yes I do find myself setting the cruise control and get into the middle lane for some overtaking, conditions permitting you understand ;) This is because I believe sat nav is more accurate than a vehicals spedo,, it's never got me on the wrong side of the law in 8 years so I guess it can't be too wrong? A vehicles speedo is only calibrated? And I could be wrong of course upto 30mph that's why they have a red line on the 30mph Mark and no other speed. Save digital ones of course.

Don't worry Givover I didn't take it that your anti truck.:) I'm only a weekend warrior myself now the winters here ready to save for some mods for the bike. But admitting you have a class one instead of an LGV1 could get some unwanted attentions from certain people on here ;)
But I agree, I've had 3 years off the road and some of the antics and stunts I see pulled now beggars belief.
    I could write a book I tell thee ;)

Sat Nav speed indicators are as accurate as you can get as I understand it because they work off GPS. The Spec cameras are set to +10% as far as I know - although having said that different authorities can set their camera tolerances at different levels depending on the road and location etc

Yeah most vehicles speedos are set to read over by the manufacturers, so that people don't break the speed limit by accident then try and blame/sue the vehicle manufacturer.

The sat nav doesn't allow for peaks and troughs, the distance is as the crow flys?
