    Hi all,
I have been offered a bandit 1200 by a guy at work for £400. It is in generally ok condition but has dropped a cylinder . It has a full Akro system on it plus a spare micron can, and new unused pair of rental bars. The lad is not mechanically minded and has no garage for storage hence the sale.

I'd like it as a project to fix up and sell or surely I can make out of it if I break it and sell as spares..

What are your thoughts is it worth a go?

I am no expert but assuming the Akro system is in good condition I would have thought you could get your 400 quid back just on that alone, but I am sure someone far more qualified than me will be along in a while and put you on the straight and narrow. Good luck

Go for it!! Worst case scenario you could pick up another engine if the other one is unfixable. The engine has got to come out whatever you do.bikehut are selling an engine for £255.There you go worth doing.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat mate. Loved my B12. £400 is nothing and a cylinder/piston replacement is no big deal. Gimme a shout if you need any help with it. GSXR parts also fit!

Thanks for all the help chaps!

I have fancied a project for a while. I'm looking forward to getting the engine up on the bench and doing some fettling.

Cheers megawatt there may be some questions coming your way!

I'll keep you posted with the progress. It's not going to happen quickly...

Well I finally have the extremely dirty Bandit 1200 in the garage next to a gleaming Blade! It does need a whole lot of TLC but I'm looking forward to stripping it down.
Not only did he leave a tank of fuel in it it's still taxed and Mot'd...!!

Already discovered the wiring needs some attention lots of almost bare wires round the headstock. and I knew about the engine.
I'll get some pic's up at the weekend... and hopefully start stripping it down.
