My banjo bolt has arrived today (after nearly 2 week in the christmas post!).
Dry fitted into my new RCS master and it's only too fecking long:mad:
My question is it safe to make up the gap by fitting extra crush washers?

It's a titanium one so would rather use it if I can.

To be honest mate even with washers it's just going to look out of place.

Can you post a pic of the banjo bolt as I think you may be able to chop it down if you have the tools

right you are! I guess there's no point taking shortcuts on something relatively cheap.

how much gap is there with the lines in?

i'll double up on copper washers if needed, but wouldn't go any more.

You could possibly cut the banjo bolt down and redress the end of the threads but like mentioned you really need the right tools to do it properly so you don't strip the threads on the MC.

I also wouldn't recommend using multiple crush washers either as they will most likely have a tendency to leak from between the washers, seen it happen many times on oil sumps where people don't remove the old crush washer n fling a new one on with it causing an oil drip leak.

Have you tried contacting the company you got the ti banjo bolt from and see if they supply smaller bolt lengths? Might be the simplest way forward.

Thanks both, It's more impatience on my part,- I've been waiting to fit for nearly two weeks(bolts was lost in the post)! with the Xmas period I might have to wait till Jan for replacement. The RCS comes with a double banjo bolt but you're right should have got it direct from the supplier instead of going bling on a titanium one.

I cut bolts to the correct length all the time. If I was doing that one then I'd put it in a vice then cut with a hacksaw and dress the cut thread with a small file and because the end of it is dished you might have to redo the dish with a drill, I don't see a problem with cutting it.

If you know of anyone with a small lathe then you can get them to turn it down to size for you no probs.

I'm not sure how far our Arthur is from you, but if you speak nicely to him, he may be able to help you.

As Jason said buy a correct bolt . I had to add 1 extra copper washer when I fitted my Galespeed mastercylinder , I would not advice adding more than 1 extra or cutting the banjo . You could phone Venhill they will be able to help .
