i have been meaning to ask this since I got the bike but keep forgetting until I have just bought some new grips.

Do these bar ends look right to you? They don't look far enough into the bars to me but tried to push them in and they don't budge. It's got me wondering if they are normally like that on all blades?

It's what mine look like. Tried to pushed/hammer them up a little but there is a bracket in there preventing it. Bugs me to, feel they should be further in lol. Mine seem to stick out further than all the pics I've seen... would be good to know if mine look like everyone else's to lol

Yeah I've tried giving mine a little tap with a rubber mallet but no movement. Didn't want to hit it too hard.

Surely they shouldn't be like this??

Yep OEM ones always look like that! They are screwed into a block inside the bar that dampens the vibrations.

The block is also locked in place with a couple of tabs that sit in a small hole in the bar

Looks like I'm going to have to get some aftermarket ones to try and reduce the gap.

    image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I can just get a 3.5mm drill bit in mine

I have never take one off but looking at some spare R&G ones if you have them 180deg out that could add 2mm

Don't suppose you could try sticking one of those in and then see how they sit? A photo would be even better as I was thinking about getting the r&g ones.
