I was in infinity getting my free £10 And sore some base layers from Oxford and wondered whether to have the £10 off them. Now I wear thermals( calm down lozzy) for work because I am a sissy and work outdoors But are base layers any good under leathers for keeping you warm and cool? And do you wear them?
I wear the Rev’it base layer one piece - I get them from sports bike shop. Have done for the last 4 or 5 years and find them very comfortable under my RST’s. Certainly good in the summer for keeping cool - in spring/autumn I add a turtle neck sweatshirt. https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/140961
I got a couple of the summer base layer Oxfords a few years ago and they've worn really well for the money. They're v comfy under 1 pieces especially....they wick away the sweat. But I use mine on the mtb and also under casual wear. I've got a Dainese thermal one for winter which has been really good too.
Always worn thermals under leathers as I used to commute all year round. Stop the sweaty stuck to you in the summer feeling and the freezing your nads off in the winter. Currently using Under Armour and some stuff called LAPASA off Amazon.
I've a RST tech X one piece, makes getting leathers on n off easier, ,,,,,,, especially if your hairy
I recently got this and love it. Keeps me cool and warm too. Silky smooth getting leathers on and off. Even has a cover for the zip top near ypur neck. https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/191851
Pro skins for me.... but then again I’m a right Tart definitely summer use only.... epic Alpinestars are pretty decent, I’d say for more mild/cold weather ..... great but can feel bulky plus some Dainese ones that are just way to stretchy and feel horrible.... almost scratchy, Best one is a full Dainese teabag suit. I call it my gimp suit! Proper bit of race kit, feels like it’s made of silk, super thin and completely ventilated with millions of tiny little holes. Needs to be high teens if used with vented roo suit
I used to buy thermals at the end of the ski season when they were marked down and they used to keep me warm. For summer I just buy cheap running base layers.
I love the items of clothing that have found their way into my everyday life from my experience as a year round rider in London. Various grade Buff's dependent on temperature? Check. Layering systems composed of a moisture wicking base layer, followed by various layers thin thermals followed by fleece if it happens to be real cold? Check Check.
I got that one as well. Keeps me the same sort of temperature all the time. So much easier to slip the leathers off after a ride. Used to look as though I was fighting an invisible monster trying to get sweaty leathers off skin.
Always wear base layer, mainly for ease of slipping the leathers on and off! Me trying to get leathers off without one .......
I buy winter base layers from Trespass they are thermal and have a high neck line usually buy a couple in the end of winter season sale when they are reduced to about £15, for summer Nike long sleeve running tops.
