Does the 2012 non ABS blade have a bigger capacity battery than the 2010 non ABS blade?
The reason I ask is that my 2010 sounds like the battery is flat when starting even though I charge it on an optimate but my mates 2012 sounds fine.

It sounds to me like your battery is on its way out, what i would do is leave it overnight without the optimate connected and put a volt meter on it in the morning(if you dont have one take the battery to any motorbike shop/car parts shop as they would test it for free most of the time) ,anything less that 12 volts means the battery is knackered as its not holding the charge even with the optimate connected

As your mates bike is a 2012 means it has a decent battery on it,so i would replace the battery especially if its the original battery on the bike.

Yes it is the original battery. The bike is under warranty as I bought it in August from Honda dealer so I'll give them a call.

I know what you mean about the bike sounding like it turns over slower than it should, like the batts knackered. Mine does the same

Yup ... they all sound like that . When I got a new battery after the original packed up it didn't sound any different

    Same too when I fitted a LiFePO4
