While I wait for the cretins at Farnham Honda and Honda themselves to decide whether my claim to have the Stator / draining battery issue done under extended warranty I seem to be able to keep going by using the trusty Optimate everynight... OK, no biggy. Usually get about 6-7 starts. Yesterday I had to pop to my daughters, went out to start the bike (3rd of the day after being on Optimate), now I think I made a bit of an error and pressed the start button before the neddle had done it's bit and gone right, then left and stopped. There was no juice at all and wouldn't start... is this due to my premeture button pushing or something more sisnister that Honda hasn't thrown at me yet !!
Can't answer your question I am afraid. But what's the issue with the extended warranty?, according to the blurb they print to publicise it, it's clear cut if you have a fault and the bikes service history is up to date, ie they repair it, up to the value of the ordinal sale price. Was just about to take the 3rd year option myself, so anything fishy here? as in they don't honour their obligations
Paul if your not having any luck with Farnham honda try Hatfields honda in Crowthorne, much better customer service
The service history has to be spot on with invoices to support that may need to be submitted to the third party company that run the Honda extended warranty service. Honda also check their own system for service history as dealers should update the Honda system each time a bike comes in for any work, repairs mot or servicing. I've only had a couple of dealings with this and on both cases neither were approved due to lack of history. However in paul-b's case Honda themselves have extended the stator recall/warranty cover to a total of 7 years on some bikes which could be what the OP is referring to in which case this shouldn't be a problem and should be fixed foc under warranty.
