This is the key points in an on-going battle to resolve a problem with Bazzaz Electronics.

My 2009 track bike was bought fitted with the ZFi TC giving traction control, fuelling and a quick shifter in one.

After purchasing the bike I had it on the dyno just so there weren’t any surprises on my first track day.

The first issue was that the USB connection on the control box kept on working loose. No big deal after a few tie wraps and some tape. I was advised to drop Bazzaz an email asking if it could be repaired. I received a reply saying it was not a repairable part. No big deal as for my needs it won’t be on a rolling road that often. I then asked if it could be replaced. I was never given a reply to that question.

On the first track day the quick shifter worked for the first few sessions then gave up. I had changed the rearsets, so waited until I got home before getting deep into the problem. On inspection everything looked ok, when tested on paddock stands it was fine. Next track day same thing, worked in the morning not the afternoon.

I sent an email to the supplier in Ireland and waited and waited. Sent the same email again to be asked if it was a push or pull (I now know this doesn’t matter). I replied (push) and waited and waited. Sent the same email again and was given instructions on what to do and was told, if this didn’t work that I would need a new shifter. Tried but the quick shifter is defective.

My next email asked how much it would cost for a replacement and how long it would take to arrive. Waited and waited………… Emailed again, replay was £180 and a part number. I looked on the bazzaz.co.uk website but couldn’t find the item.

Wasn’t impressed at this point and headed to the bazzaz.net site and completed the online form to send a message to the sales department, waited and waited………………………………………

No reply, headed to the facebook page and asked why they hadn’t been in touch. Waited and waited………………… Had to ask again………………………… Seeming there was no trace of my message and could I email then directly. I did.

Just as I was replying to them, the UK (Ireland) lot sent me an email telling me that the website I needed to look at was bikehps.com and the UK site is a wholesale and retail website!!!!!!!!!!!! Why could that not have been covered in the first email after it was established I had a push shifter. Instead of me having to keep sending emails and waiting?

Oh and the part number was wrong. I still don’t have clarification but the new Bazza quick shift unit (push or pull) is over £200!!

At the same time the Americans told me that they didn’t think the USB and quick shift problems were related and I’d need a new shifter!!!

At time of writing I’m still waiting for a reply from the US. I made all the points above will post the results.

Please remember this is my experience dealing with a problem. If you have bought and fitted a Bazzaz product and it came within a few days and worked first time. Please don’t post saying how good they are. I am talking about after sales issues.

I asked for some more stickers for my new fairings, no reply from Ireland after 3 emails, America replied and said I need to speak to the UK distributer and they will "hook me up" and gave me a direct email to who ever it was I need to speak to and guess what....
    No reply after 2 emails!

Asked bazzaz on Facebook, after nearly a week I get a reply... What's your address? I give address, they say is that in England? I say yes.... No more replys

All I want is some stickers lol I bet they have boxes of them

My quick shifter switch went to on my last bike... stuck on. Stupid cost for a new switch so unplugged the thing and just used it for fueling and traction control.
    Ain't buying one ever again!!!

I love the idea of a bazzaz but i know too many guys who have issues with them (especially on triumph 675s).

I have thought about one for my R6.

I sent my last email on the 16th. I have already bought a HM plus from this forum as I don't intend to spend any money with them. Knowing my luck I'll get one from them gratis!!!!!!!!

thanks for posting this, always been on the edge of chopping in my Dynojet gear in favour of bazzaz for no reason other than Bazzaz seem to be a little more integrated rather than the modular (and ultimately pricier) approach of Dynojet ......but I have to admit the guys in Preston are second to none in terms of customer support whether you have bought new or second hand.

Contact them and they are always on hand to help. Richard, Frank Jnr, Victky always there happy to help
They reply to my messages within a day, support excellent support on all their products. Put it this way, I asked where I could buy some posi taps ( to connect the PCV to temps sensors, speed sensors etc) and they said within a few hour don't worry we'll send some FOC first class! Kudos

Happy to continue to spend my hard earned with them!

Their feeling and tc is good if anyone was thinking of gettin it. Wouldn't be put off by that. Just the quick shifter isn't as good as the rest with a strain guage or what ever else is out now. I ran baza and a hm shifter cause I like hm. Just changed to a pc but haven't gained anything by doin so

there is an issue with the switch, mine started playing up,and know of few other that had the same issue.there was a lad on TDR that took his apart, found the fault, repaired and all was well after apparently, but this was a yr or so ago.

when I ran bazzaz on my blade (which was the bike the switch became faulty) I jusy swapped the switch for a spare I had on onather nike, not branded bazzaz, but exactly the same, right down to the connecter, never had an issue with that switch.

so,not sure if the switch is generic switch, just branded up,or if bazzaz copy another manufacturer, but don't seem to have quite right some how?

this wasn't the strain gauge switch though,so maybe they re better now? but I certainly wouldn't put the q/s aspect of the bazzaz system on mmy bike, the rest of it was spot on though

No reply this week! I'll give them until Monday afternoon in California before heading back to facebook. They only seem to react to social media.

I had some small issues with a Bazzaz traction control/fuel commander/quickshifter and emailed the guys in the US and they responded helpfully and quite quickly.

Is it [email protected] you are talking to ? ( there was another guy before this, but I can't find the emails or remember his name.)

I also have the USB cable falling out of the unit - pretty annoying and a simple problem to fix, if it was fixed at design/specification stage.

What was the small issue? I agree if they had used a better quality USB connector it may have lasted longer.

There were a couple - one was the USB cable falling out, the second was regarding the AFM thingy not working at first. Small issues compared to what you are facing.

This was posted on Facebook. When I tried to reply the comment had been removed. No idea what they are playing at. I had just sent a very strongly worded email describing which orifice there customer service could be inserted into, when I found an email from the VP (spam folder) saying he had seen my comments on Facebook and wanted to know what he could do to help. I've sent him the whole story and am looking forward to his reply.

    Bazzaz commented on your post.

Iain, we and our importer have replied to you at least 12 times. We have told you several times what part to order and even where to order it.

So here it is two weeks later and god knows how many emails, the answer, the apology, the discount code?

    Hello Iain,

Thank you for bringing all of this information to me.

Let me try and help. Yes, you found the correct part for the replacement shift sensor. You should know that this is a newer generation shift sensor, our Strain Gage, and should you proceed to acquire it I am sure you will like it. It works in both compression and tension (push / pull) and is adjustable for sensitivity. It can be found in your region on websitewww.BikeHPS.com, and it is the Bazzaz USS that you referenced in your below email.

Were you having some other issue, other than your QuickShift not working?

You mentioned your USB cable came loose while tuning on a dyno, if you do want a new USB cable, there is nothing special about the USB cable we supply with the kit. You can use a USB cable from your local electronics supply store.

I believe that is what you need, if there is something I am missing please let me know. Thank you,

    Josef Buxton
