Right I'm sick of browsing the beer aisle in Tesco. There's far too much bloody choice. I remember when your options were Guinness, Stones Bitter, Newcastle Brown and McEwan's Export. So, without sounding like an old soak.........do you lot have any beer suggestions?
Already said it mate. Newcastle Brown. Try and find the brewpunk IPA, it's quite tasty. Big bottles of Leffe are good. I usually work my way through the Ales every few weeks. Or Stella, usually goes down well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I sometimes buy those mixed packs of unusual Ales..they can be fun to try if you like that sort of thing
Forget Tesco, order online via Ocado @ https://www.ocado.com/webshop/getSt...gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CKe70JSj4NACFVAy0wodo94PnA and get £20 off an £80 shop using voucher code VOU7670663 Then order £80 worth of Speckled Hen, Abbot Ales, Tanglefoot Ale all for £60. Then put your feet up while they deliver it for free
I'm quite partial to Innis and Gunn. Guinness is obviously the daddy and although I'm allergic to lager, I'm happy to pop an antihistamine and jump on the Stella train occasionally.
That Brewdog Punk IPA is quite nice, I have to say. I've seen that Innis and Gunn stuff. I'll have to give that a sample as I've heard good things.
Bloody students........<grumble grumble grumble> I've developed a dislike for the feckers since moving to Durham.
WE HAVE GROWN TO LOVE OUR STUDENTS HERE IN EXETER. THEY BRING MUCH NEEDED CULTURE, WEALTH AND DIVERSITY TO THE CITY. have to say that or we'll never get planning permission for anything, get served in a bistro or issued a car park ticket. Spies everywhere...
Same here in Durham. You wander round the city centre and every house is a glorified squat with no curtains. And lots of plummy-voiced young things with boundless enthusiasm who've yet to have life sh*t all over their plans roam around in packs, rowing on the river, carrying various bits of sporting equipment hither and thither and having loud conversations that make you want to harm them. A few weeks ago I heard one toffy lass say to another, "I seriously wouldn't take a job for less than 60K, yah" Not the best thing to proudly exclaim when you're walking around a former mining area where unemployment is a bit of an issue.
Hmmm... Our problem is slightly different. Exeter city centre has, in recent years, undergone brown site redevelopment that Goering'd wish he'd managed in 1942. Virtually all of it is student residence. That that isn't are bistros for the students to work in... Meanwhile, the surrounding villages (including mine) are being raped for development for the people who work in the city who now need to commute into the city, and... yaddah, yaddah, yaddah...
