I guess the obvious choice is the Honda CB1000R but given its coming up to its 5th birthday without any changes it does appear in need of an update. But what about the Kwak SX1000, I had a look around one the other day and was very surprised by the general build quality and the way in which they combined a naked sort of bike with some bikini fairing .... but without making it look like a CB1300 or a CBF1000 Any body else got opinions.... oh, not just the best looking, but the best overall package of looks, ride and general ownership experience. Ta.
Depends really the SX1000 is more like a touring bike IMO good for commuting etc I just personally dont find them very exciting to ride or look at my mate has the sx as his second bike ive ridden it and its ok but doesnt set the world on fire. For a sit up i prefer the naked look like the Z1000 or CB1000r but grated the Honda is in need of an update! Tough one really as the blade is awesome for everything!
I have to say that I do like the look of the CB1000R, I was looking at one in Blade honda the other day when I was picking up some bits for the bike.
OK 50CC over but how about a Speed triple? cracking engine, comfy apart from wind blast over 80. Had mine 3 years and did not miss a beat
Still loving my z1000 from 2006, she eats CB1000R's....lol now those 1050 triples they handle VERY well! Better than most IMO hate to say it but the CB is a little boring IMO. Only got it coz it has four pipes....lol Not friendly but goes like stink! I hated the Ducati Streetfighter and me and my mate had a race and the Ducati Diavel I had on loan whoooooped it's ass big time!
Nice pics, but the Speed Triple does look really smart, not too keen on the CB1000R's colours for the HRC.... Not keen on the silver forks, silver exhaust headers, gold wheels, othe gold bits... bit of a mish mash really. I think with naked bikes the manufaturer really needs to get all the ' bits ' to work together, whereas a faired bike can get away with a lot due to a lot of it being hidden. I have heard nothing about an update to the CB1000R for 2013, which is a shame but in 2014 it will be 7 years old since it came out in 2007 !!! Now that is getting into grandfather status.... the speed triple does look nice
Orange..... like my BMW 3 series !!! Not so keen though on that belly pan thingy, if a bike is naked, then i would leave it as such.... not too sure what use they are, other than some folk liking the way they look i guess.
I liked it and for me finished it off. but they are simple to remove and you don't need to have them, Same with the small fly screen.
I personally like the belly pan on the street. I do prefer the round lights to the new funny shaped thing though.
