I'm looking at getting 1 of these also Dave.

I'll only use it for a weekend car though and get myself a small diesel car for running to work ans so on as I'm now clocking up 1000 miles a week with my new job.

I also like a nice car to take care of and enjoy.

Thought long and hard at getting an M3 or M5 I would chop the facelift X5 for one.Only thing holding me up is the missus. She loves that X5 cos its big comfy 295bhp and returns 32mpg round town.On a run (with topbox)it does better than a 2010 1.6 focus to the dismay of my brother in law.The new X5 doesn't cut it for me.Not that I need another fast one when the bike does the stress therapy.Mercedes are not my cup of tea but the E55 is simply breath taking. At 20k that is a hell of a car for the money. These things eat tyres 6 sets in a year is what my mate Gary went through, but there again he is proper minted.

No probs whatsoever mate been a great car, would like to get summat a bit newer and a 09 SLK specced up would be well over 20K
where as the Beemer is just about affordable.

Cars aren't really my thing but a debadged M3 saloon in grey with black seats would work. Or a Bristol Blenheim.

I rarely drive so it's not going to happen. Car or bike to visit my parents in Dorset? Easy choice.

    I like me Mercs!

Will be getting a C or E63 AMG Estate next I reckon when I get bored with the above, the plate will suit an AMG V8 better too!

If you have not already, get a decent drive of one, poor visibility, and if its on standard run flats, a real bone crunching skippy shite ride. For similar money a Boxster runs rings around it, albeit will be a year or two older.

i got a rs4 avant tucked away in the garage for weekend trips and a toy mainly. for a £15-25k car there great. stonking v8 motor , 4 wheel drive, audi quality and estate practicality and not too in your face looks wise as some sports cars.

When I came out of the company car scheme I did the rounds. Looked at Beemers, Mercs, Audi's, Saab's, VW's, but at the end of the day it was a no brainer, went for a brand new Jag, best choice (touch wood so far) I have ever made :D
